The project focuses on how easily one assigns meaning to seemingly random combinations of blocks, giving them personality and creating emotional connections.

I was inspired by Ringers, in which people see animals and other characters. I wanted to amplify this quality, and the idea of sculptures made of blocks clicked! Endless combinations, funny characters, and my passion for cubes, voxels, and modular systems.

To make the sculptures, I used technique of hybrid voxel raymarching, so we can say, the sculptures are made of colored void in a reflected space. Some of them may seem impossible due to the lack of perspective, but sooner or later it all clicks! It helps to keep in mind that all shapes are symmetrical.

The script uses modern features of GPU so it's supposed to work only on desktop: Chrome, Firefox or Safari

Singularity in Heritage, an AI-driven NFT exhibition, brings the innovation of Eastern visual arts, crafts, traditions, motifs and transmutes it to an experiment in cultural memory. Mammadov aims to broaden the scope of a living tradition by bringing to life these new imagined rugs, coupled with data painting techniques, thread simulation, and color data. He opens up a space for a dialogue between the past and future, dystopia and utopia, to document and preserve the vast cultural history and tradition of the NFT future. As a result, Mammadov pushes the boundaries of tradition and digital and questions technology's role as a form of memory and a tool of power. Historically, carpets, miniature paintings, and decorative oriental patterns play a significant role in forming Azerbaijan's heritage and aesthetics. Although the Middle East comprises different carpet genres, they share similarities in geometric patterns, floral motifs, and calligraphic shapes. A significant cultural tradition alternates to digital culture and practices, bringing Mammadov's creative proposition to a global audience and considering how the clash of cultures, between the traditional and the digital, has greatly manifested in Mammadov's practice and encouraged innovation. By weaving all the data together, Mammadov invites the viewers to understand the significance of and similarities between Middle Eastern carpets and to recreate tangible-world cultures.

Dead Ringers: Edition

Every day in January 2022 I generated a new output from an algorithm, generated a random wallet address, and sent the work to that address. On the final day, January 31st, all the previous Dead Ringers were placed in a 5 by 6 grid and minted to a generated address.

It was almost guaranteed none of the wallets that received Dead Ringers would ever be accessible given there are 16 to power of 40 available addresses. I hoped it would help observers appreciate the vastness of the address space and the underlying security it provides to the network used to distribute the work.

While the distribution of individual Dead Ringers was extremely fair, as it protected against bots and ballot stuffing, it was also extremely unlikely that they would ever be collected. For that reason, observers ascribed value to their scarcity and the odds of receiving one.

The Dead Ringers: Edition flips that notion on its head. Now an edition of January 31, 2022, colloquially known as the Dead Ringers grid, is available to all wallets as a 24-hour timed edition, capped at the size of 16 to the power of 40. That is the total number of possible wallets, and each wallet is entitled to own one if they should wish.

The ERC1155 token points to the same PNG file on Arweave that the original January 31, 2022 referenced, meaning the underlying artwork is exactly the same file as the sought after original.

Each wallet is only eligible to mint one edition, and if a wallet already has one it cannot mint another. There is a 24 hour minting period and the edition size is capped at 16 to the power of 40, the number of all possible Ethereum addresses.
