Dmitri Cherniak reconfigures his pioneering series with a silkscreen print that nods to the algorithmic parameters of Generative art.

Originally released in 2021, the Ringers series illustrates the almost infinite  ways a string could be wrapped around a set of pegs, created by an algorithm that allows an limitless variety of combinations of this concept. Derived from a unique Javascript transaction hash, each output contains feature variations including peg count, size, layout, wrap orientation and colourful flourishes.

Realised as a physical print edition, this new incarnation of Ringers is a 9-piece parameter sweep laid out in a 3x3 grid.  The number of pegs sampled are changed between 10% and 100%, with the signature yellow peg remaining consistent in each composition. Ringer #962, donated to LACMA, appears in the centre. To support the future of Los Angeles County Museum of Art, proceeds from Cherniak's first Avant Arte edition will be donated to the museum, alongside the original work.

The artist's three signature colours are boldly realised in seven layers of silkscreen, each enhanced by embossment. Each print is paired with an NFT of the same artwork. Claiming instructions will be shared with collectors after launch.

The exact edition size will be determined by the number of prints ordered in the 24 hour release window. When this window ends, artworks will be printed and shipped worldwide free of charge.

I got my first DSLR in 2015, and at that time, photography was just a hobby for me. I never traveled by myself before, and I just had this overwhelming feeling inside that I was ready for a change. So, I went outside of my comfort zone and booked a trip to Australia as a solo female traveler. I stopped in coastal towns across the East Coast, from Sydney to Cairns.

I had dreams about photographing Whitehaven Beach and Hill Inlet's swirling sands from this aerial perspective. On October 12, 2016, a 60-minute scenic flight over The Great Barrier Reef changed everything for me. As I was checking once in a lifetime experiences off of my bucket list, I quickly realized how much photography actually means to me and how my passion brought me to this magical destination.

Much like my adventures overseas, I have been challenging myself in the NFT space since August 2021. I love creating art and transporting people to the special places in my photographs. My first mint of 2022 was “Above Paradise”, which was also taken from this scenic flight. It’s only fitting that my last mint of the year comes full circle.

While walking across Michigan Avenue on my birthday in Chicago, I captured this one-of-a-kind photograph on Psychedelic Blues experimental 35mm film.

On a deep Winter's day in the West Fjords of Iceland, a storm looms just off shore. Snow drifts are measured in feet in this part of the world, a truly rugged and wild place. In Winter, much of the day is spent in the golden hour of light, which contrasts with the long and bitterly cold nights. It's oddly comforting in a way that's hard to describe. There is no light without dark, no joy without pain. I stood above this lonely icy beach until the sun went down, struggling to stay warm, thinking to myself how wonderful and beautiful our little home in the cosmos truly is. 

Endless waves crash upon the shore of a black sand beach. It was my second to last day in Iceland out of a two week whirlwind of a trip, having weathered Winter storm after Winter storm. Two weeks was simply not enough time to explore this beautiful country but that's typical of places like this; a lifetime would hardly be enough. I hadn't seen the sun in several days and decided to visit this iconic location on the southern coast. I nearly had the place to myself and based on the clouds, I wasn't expecting much but the sun dipped below the clouds just before going down and the whole landscape erupted in orange and red glow. I couldn't believe my eyes. The sun went down shortly after and I was left buzzing from what I'd witnessed. It was the perfect end to one of my most memorable trips to date.

Fog and clouds envelop us as we rise above Wall Street. The iconic golden bull stands ready to charge right at the entrance of the building we chose. Every step takes us away from that world and into our own, one where we belong. We are here to do our work, the very thing that gives us freedom away from the shackles of the financial institutions we rise above. The ethereal fog is an epiphany for my soul reminding me I am, exactly   where    I need  to be.                 I create therefor I am.

We go through periods in life where we're just waiting. Waiting for clarity, waiting to know the sure path forward, and waiting for the next phase of life. It's in these moments of waiting and quiet, where nothing else is visible, that we're truly tested. Do we embrace and face the thoughts lingering in our subconscious or do we escape into the hustle and bustle of the world below?
