Mappings arose organically through an exploration of generative space and form. Map structures began emerging and with them suggestions of underlying motifs. In this way, the generative AI process exists orthogonally to a traditional observational approach, where an artist begins with a motif. Mappings integrates experience from my personal history including landscape painting, map illustration, data visualization and generative coding, though there was no intention do so when I began the exploration. Mappings includes 8 motifs: Farmland, Aerial, Glacier, Nautical, Night, Parking Lot, Roadways, Suburbia and 19 custom, randomly assigned palettes.

Mirrorworlds are the seventeenth realm in Possibility Spaces and attempts to compose images which contain numerous parallel dimensions; using mirrors as a means to visualise this. Populated by adventurers from another reality; mad scientists and futuristic time leapers.

The following artwork description was redrafted by an LLM from the output of another ML process; which used a service called SceneXplain; which is a script that can view a complex image and then attempt to describe it in words.

So everything in this description has been discovered by an AI process whilst gazing at the image itself; without any human text input or editing.

Some of the elements present in the description may not be in the image; as they may be AI hallucinations.

At the tunnel's distant reaches; a tableau of diverse humanity sauntering down an enigmatic alleyway provides a vivid snapshot of metropolitan rhythm and allure.

A subsequent vista; peeking shyly from behind an angle; unravels the journey of a lone figure meandering along the identical alleyway. Yet; a haunting undercurrent lurks in his gait; disturbing the placidity etched within the first scenes. In striking juxtaposition; the perpetual surge of contemporary urban existence manifests in a live capture of a third pedestrian; navigating the glassy tunnel's thoroughfare.

A woman; swathed in azure; weaves through the crowd; lost in her private labyrinth of thoughts. As the motley assembly proceeds; their attention is snared by a vitrine cradling a meticulous replica of a Star Wars cloak. Adding to the collective artistic experience is a portrait of solitude—a solitary figure shrouded in the hollow expanse of a tunnel; painted with stirring realism.

Beyond the tunnel's cocoon; a woman; her blue coat whispering tales of serenity; stands ankle-deep in a placid water body; her gaze chained to a distant horizon. All in all; a multi-layered symphony of visuals offers a glimpse into the eclectic adventures promised by this ultramodern cityscape.

Calm Menace

This work explores the concept of parallel realities and the paths we choose, reflecting on the multiple beginnings and various ends that compose our individual narratives. The pieces in the collection have 217 starting points and 247 ending points that can be matched on both ends with other pieces to create longer narratives. Some endpoints are more rare or unique, the others appear more frequently, up to 6 times. The collection invites collectors to engage in a game-like experience where they are tasked with identifying matching elements and orchestrating their individual paths, through collecting matching elements. The works in this collection are a testiment to the ever changing landscape of our environment, both natural and human-made. They echo the subtle, sometimes imperceptible transformation occurring within our surroundings, mirroring the constant, albeit gentle, metamorphosis. It is the dance of nature and civilization that is in eternal fluxus.

In 2011 I visited Maui to capture a portfolio of the island. What was supposed to be a one week trip (all I could afford at the time) turned into six months. I spent weeks in Maui and would go back home for a short period of time to get different equipment and plan for new shoots. My intention was to learn the island, speak to locals, and find the most beautiful locations.

The trees in this image are only grown in a few places around the world and they look like they've been painted, it's incredible. After finding this small forest in Hana I decided to wait a few days until a good rain came down; I wanted to capture the best image possible. The water had saturated the trees and brought out the vibrant colors from the bark. As the clouds in the sky began to dissipate the sun light spotted through the trees and really made the image come to life and I snapped my moment.

Eleven years later I went back to the island and these trees have been destroyed by time, nature and people carving into the colorful bark. I never realized the impact social platforms would have on the environment. The Rainbow Eucalyptus grove in Maui will never be the same.

After 72 hours, my newest work "Equinox" an image from Maui from 2023 will be airdropped to the collectors. In the next few months all collectors who hold both images will have the opportunity to burn both to redeem an image I will be creating in April from an undisclosed island off the coast of Portugal. This burn of the "past" and "present" is symbolic for what we as humans have done to the planet and this location.

This piece represents the last golf course, preserved inside a museum. Climate change has made it unsustainable to maintain them, as water becomes scarce and the high temperatures burn the grass. The scorching sun makes it unbearable to play for golfers. The remnants of Golf.
