Particle systems have always held a special place in my heart. The inherent simplicity of each particle and the complexity of what emerges is a theme I have always enjoyed exploring. \
With *Drift*, I continue this exploration and delve deeper into the intricacies of one such system, to see what emotions it can evoke. 


To export a PNG, I recommend adding a size parameter to the query string, such as &size=4000 to define the longer size, and then pressing 's' after the rendering is complete. Also, please check the console for rendering and saving information.


The piece is computationally expensive and requires an adequate GPU.

It is important to understand that due to the complexity of the simulation, the result may look different across different devices. Parnassus is a generative project inspired by the work of German painter Paul Klee. It is an attempt to bridge Klee's analog practice (often credited as foundational to computer art and pointillism) with the capabilities of generative art.

Parnassus is a heavy script and best viewed on a modern device.

The word "Wirwar" is difficult to translate accurately. The meaning of the Dutch word is comparable to "tangle" or "jumble.  Drawings of isometric mazes and the works of Richard Serra served as the project's original sources of inspiration. Just imagine how difficult it would be to find your way out of one of the constructions that the project's algorithm generates. Jumbles of colourful walls are assembled by the code of Wirwar in order to be viewed on screens or in print.

By default, browsers stretch and interpolate pixels of low-resolution images into blurred colors. Cage is a study of this flux between the browser and how it interpolates images and color. Layers of these stretched pixels fit your screen to make a cage of light, blending grids of color onto a canvas. Cage paints the screen with variations of six web colors (blue, orange-red, green, magenta, violet, and yellow) to create new interactions made possible only by this resolution play.

"Public Art" is a generative art piece with a concept of exploring new histories in art. As demonstrated in [0xhaiku's previous work, "Receipt,"](https://slbls.art/receipt) the transaction information engraved on receipts suggests that new art finds value in the record of transactions, connecting you to the art. In this work, a color palette inspired by Vermeer, Hokusai and others is used to generate tiles with a generative oil painting-like touch. This symbolizes history, expressing the hope that new art will truly become "public" through the changes and transitions of history.

Tiles
The tiles are simulated based on inspiration from the actual streets of Omotesando in Tokyo. The color palette incorporates colors inspired by the floors in Vermeer's paintings, ukiyo-e, and others. The oil painting-like strokes are generated using generative techniques, giving each tile its unique charm.

2D Canvas
This work is drawn using only a 2D canvas, without the use of libraries. 3D representation is not utilized. Since 0xhaiku's previous work "Receipt," they have been fascinated by the allure of wrinkles and shadows, and "Public Art" serves as a study in creating the illusion of three-dimensionality on flat surfaces using generative noise.

Receipt
The receipt includes information on the Seed generated by ArtBlocksEngine at the time of the transaction, as well as token-specific elements. At the BrightMoment event in Japan, physical receipts with similar information printed on them will be distributed. 0xhaiku values the idea that everyone can participate in new art without relying on authority and has chosen the motif of everyday street receipts.

By purchasing an Instruction token the collector implicitly assumes full legal responsibility for the defacement of currency in their possession, and agrees to hold the Artist nor Plottables LLC harmless from all claims, losses, liabilities, public prosecutions, costs, and costs associated with this project.

All Instructions exist simply as and artistic exercise, and collectors are strictly discouraged from executing said Instructions using the following tools: Axidraw pen plotters, fine-point pens (ex. Micron, LePen, Stabilo), felt tip and highlighter pens (ex. Sharpie), scissors, and lighters. The token thumbnail represents a simulation of what this may look like if executed on the pictorial area of the United States one-dollar bill.

As a token of gratitude, each collector is entitled to a $1.00 rebate, issued in the form of a crisp bank note, when a request is made to the Artist in person.
