This will be the first song on our first album in 4 years. 

It almost didn’t happen. 

Before the pandemic we had gotten so exhausted and jaded for a moment it felt like we might walk away. Then the world ended. And for the first time in 8 years we were apart. In those lost months we remembered how much Marian Hill means to us, and means to all of you. How the connection we find through our music is literally magic. And we knew we needed to finish this record.

Marian Hill gave both of us the lives we'd always dreamed of, and kept us going during the worst year of our lives. When Samantha found herself turning 30 in her childhood bedroom and Jeremy suffered an onset of chronic pain in both of his wrists, the music we made gave us moments of joy to hold onto in a world full of uncertainty. For a few moments each day, we could get lost in a song, and pretend we were playing it for you.

This song in some ways feels like a message from that time to eternity. When we started thinking of the lyrics we were really thinking about us as a band, us as songwriters...will we be remembered? Do people still care? Will anyone care in 5 years, 10 years, 20 years?

It’s also about wondering if an ex will remember you once the relationship is far in the rearview.

And about if any of our art will last as climate change escalates to world-ending levels.

In this second freestyle, Colombian American producer Pete Rango wanted to challenge Heybela to rap over this upbeat experimental rhythm that combines the energy and colors of reggaeton, and the result was an overflow of rhymes in the best Latin style. 

Jaw is the 2nd track from the Danger Zone EP. The project consists of seven songs, each with its own 7 Deadly Sin artwork, and each sin representing a part of the song that, deep down, relates to a part of my life.

Metamovers NFT Crew is an NFT collection created by Metamovers - a Metaverse Dance Company that empowers Dancers using blockchain technology.

  Before Web3 I was 100% dedicated to songwriting, I always liked rapping, it was the first genre I fell in love with! but I put it aside with the excuse that it was a hobby for me, that I liked being behind the scenes. A year ago I decided that in addition to being a composer, I also wanted to release my music, I felt the call to express what I have inside, and this feeling coincided with the moment I met Web3, it was as if the universe was telling me: Hey you have talent and energy, now I'm going to give you the tools. It's funny, because people saw me and thought I was joking until they heard me rapping... Now, I have more conviction than anyone, and I even created my own crowdfund to be able to finance my first album as a rapper, to become the first latin artist to be born with Web3.

This is my first Hip Hop  song in the space, I had to save it for Sound XYZ. I'm serious when I say I want to make a historic album for rap in Spanish. This song is just the appetizer of all the fire that I'm going to give you, and I wrote it in a small room in my house, inspired by the Californian vibe and my life experiences. 

It talks about how this dream doesn't let me sleep, I feel it all day in my chest telling me to keep pushing, because it's not only going to change my life, but also my family, my colleagues and all the people I love. It talks about how I chose art above all else, because this is what I was born for and I just discovered. Rap is in my veins, despite the fact that I wasn´t born in a city totally influenced by hip hop or trap... it was something innate, that was given to me in an inexplicable way.

The music was made by Yogev, a friend with whom I made a lot of music in the past and with whom I met again on Web3... I already had the idea of ​​the lyrics and the melody, I even knew how I wanted to structure the beat, but I needed a person who understood me and could maximize my ideas. I immediately thought of Yogev, because he was one of the people who told me that I should release my rap when I was just a songwriter, And I knew how talented he was musically.

I want to dedicate this song to all my friends from Web3 who have supported me since day one, and who saw potential in me and my vision. Thank you for collecting,  motivating me and advising me, you are part of this. I promise you the best is about to come.

This track is for all of my peoples who have to wake up before the sun comes up to make ends meet, the early risers who found their beat to start the grind for the life that they want, a soundtrack to contemplate your next move, whether it’s to secure the bag, realize your dreams, or just tear up the asphalt to as you dance your way to the finish line, when the rest of the world is seemingly non-existent. As if there was no one else but you out there…

I wrote this during the pandemic, working as an essential worker the entire time, something I was not accustomed to as a career musician/DJ/producer for so long before. I thought for a while I couldn’t even make the same music as before, because I wasn’t living like I used to, head in the proverbial clouds and blessed to do what I love for a living. I had a whole different grind, a different perspective that put me out of my usual, ideal state of mind, that working 40+ hours a week wasn’t going to get me to.

Instead, though, I learned over time how much this motivated me to persevere, be patient, and wait for my next “cubic centimeter of chance” as I call it, the chance for me to break back through and find momentum, back into that state of mind that brought me the musical workflow I became successful with.

Dance Like No One Else Exists (or “5:55am”, the time I remember finishing this beat) is me, dancing the dance of the early grinder, ready to take it all on so I can get to my real work, making music that moves people, and reminds them that you and you alone can move mountains, let alone yourself. So dance like no else exists, move to your own beat, and don’t ever forget who you know and believe you are.

This one is for my late father who passed last April, Gary Nash, my inspiration to keep making music everyday, any way I can, anywhere I’m at.
