People are told prayer is unanswered because they do not have enough faith or that they did not pray in the right way, I learned I was not ready for an answer or I didn't deserve one.

The Impact of my rage was affecting my inner circles, I had an "I just feel like I'm the only one not pretending'
I'm not out of control, I'm just not in their control" mentality because I was told to essentially give up on this dream.

The tunnel was dark but I knew there was a circle of light, I could simply smell it. The environment I was in was regressive, holding me back from my destiny.

When it all falls, religion is a common turning point for most. Who better to have the answers than the big man upstairs?

The dream to be an artist was there, no none told me about the nightmare journey I would embark on. Depression kicked in and was something I never knew I would need to prepare for.

Grief has no expiration date. Death is very much a part of life, a lesson that everyone has to learn, and there is no escaping this reality. The best we can do is simply manage grief from day to day, moment to moment.

Growing up I always felt like there was a void inside. The best way to explain it was a fight and war within, always responding to react and never to understand. A raging bull whose only demon was their reflection, but blamed the mirror for showing them the truth.

Art became my therapy, a way to express what i was feeling inside. Art essentially saved my life, it made me realise that just because someone else cannot heal or do the inner work for you does not mean you need to do it alone.

Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby is one of my favorite movies ever because I related so much to the main protagonist Ricky. Ricky was a serial winner that lived with "If you ain't first you're last".

I lived with a similar mentality that "second place was the first person to lose", which motivated me to always push my limits and the cost to my mental health and social life.

Empty victories come with stale rewards, no one to be proud of you and no competitor to be envious of. J Cole said it best "What good is the bread if my people are broke? What good is first class if my people can't sit?"

My "Second place is the first person to lose policy" paid off, a reward that came with the pressure of catering to others.

The African Nft Community changed my life and the way I saw the universe. The community was an art family but came with the pressure of making sure they were all good.

The community grew exponentially, to the point I could no longer have that delicate touch I loved to have with the members. Trying to cater to everyone's needs but could not please anyone, every move I made came with the pressure of not upsetting the people supporting me.

I had no idea that I needed help to help others, my wick was burning and burning quickly.

Changing my mentality and circle was the best decision  I made, the "room full of mirrors, I'm surrounded by winners" mentality was killed off.

You should get rid of everyone who makes fun of your struggle and won't take the effort to grasp your condition. Create clear boundaries between you and anyone who might add to your already heavy load.

This helped me seek this light i was running towards. 10 long years of a struggle but the victory will last an eternity.

No matter the circumstance, we have a propensity to defend ourselves when we feel unfairly accused or evaluated. This is particularly true when our own personal health is in jeopardy.

The healing component is acceptance, Look For support - If you are struggling with depression, seek assistance in coping with the symptoms.

Accepting who you are is the first step.

Creating this piece the lyrics from one of my favorite J Cole songs came to mind “Too many times I swallow my pride, I’m cracking a smile, I’m dying inside, my demons are close, I’m trying to hide, I’m popping a pill, I’m feeling alive”.

I resonated with this and created coping mechanisms that were effective for my particular circumstance. The man in the mirror smiled back and was not a demon that belittled me.
