In the fall of 2016 I pushed my body, mind and soul to the farthest edge that it's ever been to, physically and to the point where I started seeing golden flower rings of light in the sky and everything around me became an iridescent violet. I was shaking and literally thought I was about to leave this dimension. Catching my breath and shaking, I reached for my tribal marker and wrote "no sensei" onto my arm to physically anchor myself in this realm and to remember this moment. I then snapped the picture of my hand that forms the basis of this piece, as a reminder to myself that there is no need for a sensei or a guru or a teacher - that we can forge our own path.

This at some level must have been inspired by Terrence McKenna's "Go it Alone" [YouTube: "Terrence McKenna - Go it Alone"]
