Living in the blinks between timezones, I’ve documented the last 10 years of my life through 1000+ microsongs – threads of transient nostalgia captured on tape.

Now trading nature immersion for urban hustle, I’m knitting together the last decade via release.

Butterfly Haus is one of the most incredible humans I know it has been a pleasure to create with him as an artist he is everything about Prince, Kid Cudi, and Terrence Trent' D'Aarby. He is the crossroads of hip hop, rock, and alt R&B. I want the word to love him as much I do he is one of the hero's musically I believe we are waiting for.

ABOUT THE CREATE Butterfly Haus (music formerly made under the moniker "SAZE") is the Brooklyn-based indie-alternative music project of New Jersey-born Nigerian-American producer, songwriter and recording artist Osaze Akerejah. Though Akerejah has been making original music since the late 2000’s the initial idea for the Butterfly Haus project was first birthed in 2019, finally coming to fruition in 2022 after a period that saw Akerejah simultaneously battling heartbreak, a cancer diagnosis and tumultuous mental and physical health struggles. 

D.C.-born Ghanian singer-songwriter YahZarah possesses the ability to heal and move mountains with her voice and vision as a composer and a truly incomparable performer. Her voice is beautiful, clear, strong, and divine in such a way that even as it enraptures, it feels difficult to wrap one's mind around.
Truly a singularly gifted person, the singer- songwriter arranged groundbreaking musical compositions with Erykah Badu, Raheem Devaughn, The Foreign Exchange, and performed live with Anderson Paak, The Legendary Roots Crew, rock icon Lenny Kravitz, Maddona and so many others.

i wrote 'CHOKE' in Canada 2 months ago.  since finishing my primarily alternative sounding album, this song marked my return to a more production-focused workflow.  expect more.

This track is for me and my ailments. My body is starting to fail and struggle in various ways, and this is the sound it makes. There is beauty in the decay.

I wrote this song while in a considerable amount of physical pain. It’s not usual for me to want to create when I am not feeling my best physically, but this was a chance to make a change in my writing process and challenge myself. I usually hit pause on my entire life when I’m sick. I  just sort of dissociate and consume in bed until it’s over or I’ve healed, but this time I chose to actually create something in this state. I wanted to process my emotions in real time. The pain is gone for now, but the feelings remain in this piece of music. I listen back and it helps remind me that everything is temporary and there can always be light even in the darkest moments.

LikeSo was created on December 13th, 2022. A tempo of 68.19 beats per minute was chosen because it was less painful to move slow, and the key of G minor best represented my emotional state at the time. The song features a one-take performance of rhythms that were designed on an Octatrack MK II and the rest of the melodies and pads were created using a Prophet ’08 PE running through a Microcosm delay pedal. The song crescendos into warm keys from my Wurlitzer 200A which is hands down my most cherished instrument and where most of my writing either starts or ends.

Artist and producer bloody white offers an otherworldly musing in his new song, “SOMETHING OF AN ARTIST” for HIGH FREQUENCY Volume 1. The hypnotizing, gentle lull of the track conjures a daydream—like playing a grand piano on a hot summer day in the countryside a la Call Me By Your Name. It’s romantic, beautiful, and full of angst. Seeking a breakthrough, bloody white turned to the piano.

“Make it hurt, hurt, just a little bit,” sings bloody white. “I’m so ignorant. I bleed out… Something of an artist. I’m selfish.”  

As the title hints, he’s exploring the nature of identifying as a self-proclaimed artist. Struggling to toe the line between the trope of artistic narcissism and egoless creative expression. He pours it all into his music.

2022 has been a revealing year in so many ways. not only have i started a new duo music project “GLOWSTONE” with sober rob, which has been nothing but creatively liberating, but i am also gradually coming out of a producing hiatus for my own project. over these past few years, i’ve been suffocating myself with pressure, afraid to even touch ableton again, and am now learning how to finally let go and find experimentation in different dance genres. “SUGAR” is the launching pad for this next era of self-produced music and ideas, which i couldn’t be more eager to put out. 

with that being said, this year has also been revealing for the rest of us as a society; we’re still trying to process the holidays post-pandemic and an all-around new normal, there are the biggest social and womens’ rights movements happening across the world right now (hence the roe versus wade overturn reference). the weight of the world hit me hard as i was sick one week; i thought about the holidays coming up and what they would signify for certain groups and disconnected families, which prompted the first couple lines of “SUGAR”. 
 
while it is a love song at heart and reflects all the loves i’ve found over 2022, including producing, it also is a tribute to light in a dark world that is yearning to be better.

"Desert Trash" is the title track on my first album that I released in Feb 2020 

Due to covid and my cancelled tour, I always felt like these songs never really got to see the light of day.  Sure, it was released-- but the unprecedented times were a huge factor in my ability to market them and share them the way I'd been dreaming of for years. Obviously at the time there were much more important things to worry about.

Circling back now, I would like to revisit a few of my favorite tracks on the album and share them with the web3 community <3
