One Last Night

About The Project:  
One last night" is  the final piece of the Night Chromatics Collection. An open edition to celebrate the sold out of the 1/1.

Together, the primary colors of light — red, green and blue — make white.  
The absence of light makes black.

Night chromatics is about night lights, in fact night colors. A visual dialogue with some object. How we see them and how lights and colors can provide us feelings. Everyone has his way to see colors.

It’s a color study. How we paint the darkness of our towns with powerful neon colors in an urge to be seen, we use vivid light colors to call your eyes. Shops, parking, restaurant, Cab... Drawing with light or drawing with colors, photography can do both.

In the purest sense of street photography, these photos were shot handled, wandering, walking through the night, and looking for lights.

A beautiful Spring day, we visited the farmer's market in Schenectady, NY to check out the scene and pick up a few things. I love going to the markets since there are so many great local vendors to choose from and some things we can only find there.

Everyone out was in great spirits, getting a beautiful day out to enjoy. I saw this couple approaching and couldn't help but feel the warmth of their energy. I hoped to capture the love surrounding them as it is a warm reminder of the happiness we feel with our own loved ones.

This piece is a special airdrop for Valentine's Day 2023.

On the Other Side -We're miles Apart

When you still love each other but grow distant.  
When you're in the same space but yet not on the same page. 

When you talk past each other instead of truly communicating. 
The bond, once strong, is now weakened.  
 
As you attempt to reconnect, you're met with emptiness.  
Living together, yet miles apart.

Taken in midtown circa 2019. The city installed these advertising screens all over the place that make for some clean reflections. I remember standing at this one for quite a while waiting for the right subject to come into view. The patience paid off.

I got tickets for opening day at SUMMIT One Vanderbilt. Midtowns tallest skyscraper and a mind-bending multi-sensory immersive experience.  Probably my favorite of all NYCs viewing platforms. Highly recommend making the trip up!

Dominating an entire city block in Midtown Manhattan, St. Patrick’s Cathedral is one of the largest and most prominent Roman Catholic churches in America. If you happen to be in the area, I challenge you to figure out how and where I got this shot!

I’m always looking for new and unique ways to shoot NYC. I noticed this mirrored overhang and thought it would make for an interesting and confusing composition, especially If I could get some of the sky and buildings in the frame. Turns out I could, and I just love the way it came out.

Taken in Times Square 2022. The reflection in this instance was a bus stop. This Buddist was ironically preying on tourists, trying to get money for prayer books and bracelets. Be vigilant in Times Square! It’s a whole world within itself.

The Oculus in Downtown Manhattan. Designed by famed Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava.  The Oculus is an aesthetically stunning transit hub that is home to the World Trade Center PATH station with trains to New Jersey and connections to 12 NYC Transit subway lines. Love it or hate it, it’s now a NYC destination and makes for some incredible photos.

A horse of a different color. Perhaps my favorite frame in the collection. Taken in 2019 on the west side. I always loved the juxtaposition of police horses in the busy streets of Manhattan. Such beautiful creatures amongst so much chaos and people.

I must have followed (at a distance) these two people for at least 10 city blocks. I loved the stories I was creating in my head about them. Was it a birthday? A celebration of sorts? Was it HER birthday? His? Were they late?Where was it? Out of about 20 frames, this was my favorite.

The Vessel was built by the British designer Thomas Heatherwick. The elaborate honeycomb-like structure rises 16 stories and consists of 154 flights of stairs, 2,500 steps, and 80 landings for visitors to climb. Vessel is the main feature of the 5-acre Hudson Yards Public Square. Everyone takes pictures of it from the outside. But few venture into the mall across the way and look for reflections.

An open edition in the spirit of Halloween. Taken at the old post office in NYC on 8th Ave back in 2017. 

Impression show created by Zhang YİMOU, China's most famous film director and director of the opening-closing ceremonies of the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Zhang YIMOU multi-award-winning Chinese film director, producer, writer, actor, cinematographer. The Impression Show is real landscape performance with Jade Dragon Snow Mountain in the background. A cultural spectacle showing the traditions and lifestyles of the Naxi, Yi and Bai minorities in Lijiang.

This photo shows a video projection onto the Marie Elisabeth Lüders Haus in the government district of Berlin.  
This projection took place on several evenings in the summer of 2022 and showed images and videos of the city of Berlin. The disintegration in the Second World War, its subsequent division and later reunification.

The photo shows a section on the aftermath of World War II and the partial destruction of Berlin's Reichtstag.

# The third of October is the day of reunification in Germany.

The reunification of Germany is probably the best historical event that I have experienced in my life and ever will. It manifested the end of the division of Germany and thus the consequences of the Second World War. 



Unfortunately, life today is characterized by numerous challenges that threaten peace.

War sucks.  
Nazis suck.  
And fuck Putin.

I was out on a photowalk in my hometown Hamburg. When the sun started to set I looked up to the sky and decided the weather is not worth waiting for the sunset and called it a day.  
When I got out of the subway at my destination I saw one of the most amazing skies in a long time. Damn! I wonder would I have gotten if I had stayed a little longer where I was only 20min before. 

Let this be a lesson to you: 
Just because something doesn't look good right now doesn't mean it can change for the better in a very short time. Be patient!

Sometimes you feel like the only lonely person left in the world. It's like you are extinct and unprotected. All you really want is some love. You are definitely not responsible for your loneliness, your warm heart can embrace the whole world, but the whole world cannot find a cure for the loneliness you live in. Because no matter what happens, everyone lives in a big void in the end. Maybe you should enjoy your solitude and be free.
