I consider myself something of a art medium nomad, and by using modern tools I try to expand my artistic expression. 

We have come long way from pigmented drawings on Altamira cave walls to implementing modern technologies.  

Electric Acid is an early bd drop for my friends and people who showed massive support for my art.

Dear Other Self,

As I sit here and reflect on the past year, I am filled with a sense of pride and accomplishment. I have come so far and have achieved so much. I am grateful for the experiences and challenges that have shaped me into the person I am today.

But I also know that there is still so much more to do and learn. The future is unknown and full of possibilities, and I am excited to see what it has in store for me.

I want to remind you to never give up on your dreams and to always believe in yourself. You have the strength and the determination to overcome any obstacle that comes your way. Trust in your abilities and have the courage to take risks and try new things.

I also want to remind you to take time for yourself and to prioritize your well-being. Make sure to take care of your physical and mental health and to surround yourself with positive and supportive people.

Lastly, I want to thank you for all that you have done and for all that you will continue to do. You are amazing and you have so much to offer the world. Keep reaching for the stars and never stop striving to be the best version of yourself.

1st-year anniversary drop  
Through NFTs I discovered a path to express my art and myself with authenticity.  
It was a year of change.  
A year of acceptance of my emotions.  
A year of facing my demons,  
falling to the bottom, feeling lost and in despair,  
and rising again.  
You are a part of this journey.  
And, together we celebrate.  
'LEGACY' is what we leave behind  
to inspire and to spread hope.

The power of flight comes not from each beautiful feather flying by itself, but from many feathers, moving as one, riding the thermals and staying connected as a strong pair of wings.

While I was born and raised on a small farm in Germany, I had the fortune to live and work abroad in my first job (for more of my biography, please read below).

Inspired by the NFT community itself where I found a lot of love, uplifting support, and a diverse community of all kinds of artists, all being pioneers on the blockchain, I felt reminded of my life in the big cities: whether it was London, Vienna, Dubai, or Delhi, it was always 'noisy'. Noisy in the sense of audible sound but also loud and pulsating for the eyes, for the heart, and for the soul.

Like in almost all over the world, there is so much to discover, so many colourful places to explore, so many wonderful diverse people to meet from all walks of life. If you just keep your eyes open, you can actually see so much. Which sounds profane at first can be an emotional journey you are taking, and with the impressions you take from there, all concepts of war and hate simply make no sense anymore.

Don't we all strive for a peaceful time here on earth? Together! Loving another! Supporting another!

The NFT community sometime seems to be such a colourful city, and with that in mind and especially in my heart, I created these colourful pieces (the darker ones represent the night times when you should be sleeping but cannot really switch off; you can all surely relate), and I hope you will all enjoy them and feel the spirit of this NFT community.

About "Monika's Art":

My name indeed is Monika, and while I was born and raised on a farm in Germany, I had the chance to live and work abroad for 10 years in my first job. This led me to Austria, the UK, Dubai in the UAE, New Zealand, and -briefly- India. I am now back in Germany with my husband and our six tortoises.

We both share a deep interest and appreciation for other cultures and languages, and we try to build bridges whereever we can.

A lot of inspiration comes from other regions of the world with an accent on Asia and Scandinavia.

I work as a doctor's assistant as a day job, and I have a little side business (just me) decorating cakes. You'll find my works on the web at www.tortenmaus.de and/or Instagram with the handle @tortenmaus.de for a look.

While I always created art throughout my life, I seldom dared to show it really, so the blockchain is indeed the first time I am 'outing' myself here - which is a huge step for me. Driven by life-long struggles with my self-worth, depression and anxiety, creating always has been and still is a way of expressing what is going on inside and cannot be expressed by words yet. This sometimes leads to spontaneous, creative outbursts, often changing the flow from my original intention. In most of the cases, finding the words for the title in the end is the expression of what was previously unspoken.

I'm glad you are a part of this journey now. For this, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude.

This digitised hand painted mixed media piece of art was created for my experimental 50 Ways to Draw a Face Challenge.

The concept was to hand draw or paint 50 different pieces of art inspired by one face reference image.

It's now become an official art challenge for Kick in the Creatives a website and podcast I co-created. Other artists are creating and sharing their version of the challenge on Instagram and our Facebook Group.

"Dark Ride"

At a theme park, it's the attraction where you would sit in a small car guided by a single rail. The, through a show building past various scenes, often with animatronic figures, but black light artwork figured prominently. These were my favorites as a child, and this piece is a tribute to the vintage dark rides I enjoyed as a kid. Painted in florescent acrylic neon colors on canvas.
